OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1932 by LaBrant’s grandfather, our company is a fourth-generation family business built on craftsmanship, dedication, and tradition. LaBrant grew up working alongside his grandfather and the skilled union-painters, earning five cents per brush as he diligently washed tools for his grandfather's skilled tradesmen at their shop after school each day. Through this humble start, he gained their respect and a deep appreciation for their craftsmanship and commitment. In 1972, at just 17, he inherited the business and has proudly carried the family legacy forward.

For multiple generations, we have been deeply rooted in Milwaukee, bringing care and craftsmanship to every project. Our commitment goes beyond painting— our foundation is built on lasting relationships and contributing to the community we call home. As a family business, we believe in creating opportunities that uplift our community. Providing training programs that provide stable, well-paying jobs is at the heart of what we do. We equip our team with the skills, safety training, trade education, and support they need to succeed, ensuring our impact extends beyond our projects and into the neighborhoods we serve. This dedication to job creation and community investment has guided us for over 90 years and remains central to our mission.

In 2018, LaBrant’s son Tyler, a UW-Madison graduate and licensed Professional Engineer, returned to Milwaukee to continue this tradition. After serving as President for six years, Tyler now acts as Senior Advisor and President, upholding the family’s values and leadership for the next generation. Meanwhile, his younger sister, Ava Pikalek, is actively learning the business, preparing to one day carry the family business into a fifth-generation legacy.
